As the title suggests, I’d like to attend beauty school in Tokyo. I want to know which steps to take in which order so the process goes smoothly, mainly acquiring a student visa and applying to the school itself. I have a vague idea of where i will be going, but if you have any suggestions for schools that would help as well.

Have you reached JLPT N2 yet, because you’re going to need to do that.
1. Do they not have beauty schools where you are? Why Tokyo?
2. A month ago you wanted to move to Russia. Is Japan just a passing fancy and you’ll want to move somewhere else soon?
Going to beauty school in Japan, is [“easy”](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Japan+%22beauty+school%22+visa&atb=v343-1&ia=web).
Just have piles of money and years upon years to learn Japanese. The catch, and it’s a **big Catch**, is a beauty school licence does not does **NOT** give you the right to a Work Visa.
* **Cosmetology license earned in Japan won’t get foreigners a visa**

Also as alluded to before you need to pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test [JLPT N2](https://jlptsensei.com/downloads/jlpt-n2-practice-test/) to go to a beauty school and get a student visa for Japan.
If you wanted to attend cosmetology school in Tokyo you would first need to spend a few years learning the Japanese language. Generally speaking you’d need to either hold JLPT N2 certification, or pass some sort of test of language skills conducted by the school. Sometimes both, depends on the school really.
Once you’re capable of studying in the Japanese language you would apply for the school like any other and once accepted they’d begin the visa application process on your behalf. You’d just follow their instructions.
But as u/MARKedTRAIL pointed out, there is no status of residence that would allow you to remain in Japan after graduating. So after completing your studies you would need to leave.
If you’re thinking you’d like to live in Japan long term you’ll probably need to figure out another career path. Perhaps discuss with your schools career counselor. Most white collar careers are fine for visa sponsorship. Very few blue collar careers are capable of sponsoring visas.
