Steps for learning japanese

Hi, I have started learning japanese around a month ago and I have learned both hiragana and katakan however Im not sure what is the next step, is it better to focus on kanji and forget about learning grammar or should i learn basic vocabulary and grammar and then go on to learn kanji using furigana? Is there any other options because different sources online give different advice.

  1. Honestly, I’d say start listening asap but the side bar is where you should go

  2. You’ll essentially learn the kanji from learning the vocabulary. You’re going to want to dedicate a large portion to vocabulary, and supplement it with Tae Kim occasionally as grammar points can be picked up as you hit the immersion stage, but a foundation is definitely useful, I’d recommend doing at least sections 3 and 4 of Tae Kim then using your better judgement from there.
