Places to live as an abroad student with a significant other in Tokyo?

Hi, first time posting here.

I’m planning to move to Japan, Tokyo more precisely, in September next year with my girlfriend. I plan on doing my Master’s there under a scholarship while my girlfriend will come with me on a holiday working visa. I’ve started looking at some options for stay and a few recommendations I got were places where I could live in a student dorm simply without issues, but alone, or places such as those offer rooms where two different genders could be together but the other person needs to be your husband/wife. Because of this, I was wondering if anyone had any helpful thoughts on how and what would be and if there is a solution where me and my girlfriend live in the same place in Tokyo. Our knowledge of Japanese is super beginner and I’ve heard that people who rent places usually require you to know Japanese and that it’s not as easy to find a place as a non-Japanese speaker. So if you have any links or sources that could point me in some directions where I could continue my research or have advice or would like to share your experiences it would be greatly appreciated 🙂

  2. If you look into companies like oakhouse and others (honestly go to gogonihon and see the companies they’re partner with and just go to their own websites, is a good way to know) they offer both, sharehouses with rooms for 2 or even apartments that are furnished, no Japanese required.
