first time traveling outside of Japan, what to prepare at the airport?

Hello yall,

I have a job here with zairyu card. I am visiting my home country and found out that I need to fill out a document before going through immigration after checking in your baggage. And you need to bring back that document (slip) with you when you are entering again.

Is that the only thing that I need to do? Are there any other actions that I need to take before leaving?

Thanks!

  1. From what I understood (and confirmed with my country’s Japan consulate) that will be all.

If anyone else knows more please correct me if I’m wrong as I’m in the same situation haha.

Also, the slip will be stapled to your passport, so there’s no problem of forgetting to bring it back.

  2. As long as you are coming back to Japan within 1 year (and your residence card won’t expire while you’re out of Japan) you don’t need to do anything else. Just make sure you have your residence card, that paper you’re talking about (which is the reentry permit), and your passport and you’ll be fine to come back to Japan

  3. There’s a slip of paper stabled to your passport. When you re enter you need to fill that out.

    It’s 1990
