  1. NJPW hasn’t tweeted something like this before. Not sure what it entails but it’s interesting

  2. NJPW: Good luck in AEW Ospreay!

NJPW marks: The world has ended. Tony Khan only wanted to partner with NJPW to poach our talent.

  3. Japan is the nation of NTR, this is so cruel, man

    AEW: I cucked you

NJPW: Please treat my wife well, I have high expectation for sharing my wife with you and high anticipation for letting her back to my crib once per year

It’s a total JAV story : AEW is an important business partner of Bushiroad, which is NJPW’s boss and AEW takes over NJPW’s talent over and over, but NJPW can’t break up with AEW because AEW’s making money for Bushiroad, he has to endure all the shame and pain, and watch AEW cuck him live

  4. Ospreay is also finishing up his njpw dates before he goes I think the difference is compared to other talents in the past ospreay asked njpws permission to do it rather than going behind there backs when his contract is about to expire.

  5. That’s kind of a relief for United Empire. this way if a change of the guard needs to happen it can be build up to it instead of thrown like a fastball.

  6. Yeah, and we’ve had high expectations on the continued activities in both AEW and New Japan for Jay White, Aussie Open, and Juice Robinson (I might be in the minority on that one).

    Time will tell, I suppose.

  7. Ospreay signing this early with AEW meant good things for New Japan. Will Ospreay will be recurring. Thats good. He won’t be regular, that’s bad. It’s the best possible realistic scenario and it happened.

  8. Still think he should’ve lost the title to Shota, then you do Shota vs Mox at WK, and if you wanted to do a match involving Ospreay, there’s loads of matches you could’ve done. Missed a good chance to build Shota up quickly

  9. Man it’s probably just anti-Finlay copium from me but NJPW being this forward about Ospreay continuing to be active in New Japan has me ready for Finlay to be in the WK match not so he can win and get the rub, but because they needed a fall guy to not pin Ospreay or Mox lol.

  10. Given that Will gets to stay in the UK and not have to move to the US along with his family, it works for him. He does not need to be in AEW on a weekly basis and just be there when creative calls for him. And when he’s not booked, he could still do shows in New Japan if New Japan needs him, or even in RevPro while he’s in the UK. And the amount of money he receives will definitely help his family – which is the dealbreaker with what he asks out of his contract.

The alternative would be he goes to WWE and get the Nakamura treatment, meaning you will never see him take the World Title off Seth, let alone Roman, or even Gunther. The highest he may achieve is the NXT title and the lower tier belts from the main roster. Not to mention having to appear every week in different cities with virtually no time to be home with his family. I think the cons of him going to WWE just outweigh the only pro which is he gets a much higher salary than AEW’s.

Either way what is clear is *New Japan can no longer able to pay Ospreay’s increasing salary*. So they HAVE to let him go. It’s just plain stupid to think Tony Khan is scraping New Japan talent when he really hasn’t. Jay, Shibata, and Will all signed to New Japan on separate occasions, not like what happened with AJ, Anderson and Gallows, and Nakamura.

The one irony about this is that Will is supposedly Kenny’s replacement when the latter moved to AEW. And now HE’s going there too. Storywise, their feud will continue on Kenny not passing to the torch to Will despite the latter’s victory at Forbidden Door, and instead was given to MJF (which also meant a potential feud between the two).

  11. I’d expect him to continue doing Wrestle Kingdom and maybe Dominion. If they do a Royal Quest IV, wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him headline that again.
