For context, I’m a Singaporean male currently waiting to attend University, majoring in Philosophy, if that’s relevant, next year. However, I’m also considering attending a Japanese University instead since I’ve heard that it almost guarantees a job in Japan. In such a case, I would probably take up a major in the humanities or social sciences as well.
I have heard that the quality of education in Japanese universities are not as rigorous as compared to Singapore, US, and UK universities, but I do not know how much of that is true.
Currently, I have considered 3 possible pathways forward
1. Completing my undergraduate here and eventually doing JET, or Grad school, or finding a job in Japan with my local degree. I do plan to study Japanese as well whenever I have the time to during Uni.
2. Apply to a English Undergrad Program in Japan
3. Apply to a Japanese Undergrad Program in Japan for International students which includes a duration beforehand to attend language school
My end goal is to eventually work and live there but I do not want to make any financially impulsive choices.

University in Japan is only valuable if you ate Japanese or from a developing nation. Middle class and rich families send their children abroad for uni. English programs are a complete waste of money.
