‘Cannabis gummy’ illnesses lead to ban on THC-like drug

To no one’s surprise, I’m sure. Why educate your populace on the issue and encourage licensed products when you can just play legal whack-a-mole with every emerging underground compound?

  1. Why licence/legalise these drugs? Nahh fk em all. I prefer to see all of these drug junkies, weed smokers getting locked up in prison for life. Sure, go light your joint to get HigH, but in exchange, it will cost you your freedom. We don’t need that shit here.

  2. Legalisation with controls means that you know what’s going on, and you are able to bust illegal manufacturing

Criminalisation, on the other hand, would mean that the whole thing is illegal, which will, of course, drive people to underground illegal sources, because those are the only sources left (America saw this during Prohibition)

And who knows what even worse stuff could be in there

  3. These “research chemical” drugs or “synthetic weed” (related terms but different kinds of highs) can be pretty dangerous. Some varieties I’m sure are not, but when you just tweak the chemistry and make new, random drugs that undergo little testing, you’re gonna end up with some really bad shit.

  4. Last thing Japan needs is some foreigners settling on their land and telling the populace weed, THC, or whatever is safe and should be legalized. I mean, didn’t you all go to Japan knowing they’re very conservative?

  5. I do hope people realize that incidents like this make legalization much less likely than before. There is already a general perception of THC as a dangerous substance and this only feeds into that.

  6. You know, if they just like. Legalized the real easy to grow thing again… they could skip all this.

  7. If they aren’t careful they are going to end up playing the same game as the U.K. Govt. They ended up banning everything and it led to all sorts of unregulated chemicals being sold, some deadly.

  8. r/altnoidsjapan is unhappy about the news. Come say hi and cheer us up. We can try to answer your questions too if you have any.
