Hello! My name is Patrick. I’m 20 years old and from the US and just very recently started studying Japanese. I know it would be a huge help to have a study buddy since learning a language is such a long journey. I would love if we could send each other motivation, study resources, advice, and maybe even have occasional joint study sessions (if we’re around the same level). Please write to me as I feel like this could be a really beneficial opportunity for both of us!

Hello, everyone, I’m a 35yo man from Brazil and I’ve been learning japanese for a long time, though not in a really fast-paced environment (since I’ve been mostly studying by myself for the last few years) and I’ve been looking not only for a community to engage, but also for some source of commentary on books and other learning materials.
I’m JLPT N3 certified for a while now, and I’ve been to japan for a professional training a long time ago and since then I’ve been working as an interpreter for japanese people who anyhow end up here in my city, which for me means that I may not have much advanced knowledge of japanese, but I’m confident that my basics are well set and my conversational skills are good enough for any regular and daily activities.
That said, I would like to apply to N2 next year, however finding my way through the text books has been incredibly tiresome, and I’m not really into ANKI, so my vocabulary acquisition is really slow. I accept suggestions on how to proceed, as well as book indications.
I thank you all for welcoming me to this community and I do hope to collaborate in some manner, especially with commentary about some “ancient” book series – such as “Minna no Nihongo” or the “Basic Kanji Book” series, since I’ve been using them for a while now.
