Does Paidy affect (Canadian) credit score?

Hey guys, I tried to purchase some tickets to an aquarium using Paidy, but it wouldn’t accept my credit card, so I just left it and purchased tickets another way.

Now Paidy is after me for ¥5,000 for tickets I never received. Can I safely ignore this as it is only connected to my mail address and name? I won’t be living in Japan for very much longer…

  1. Discounting the fact that you don’t intend to solve the problem while here, no, it will not affect your Canadian credit score.

  2. Paidy is apparently very aggressive about getting missed payments.

You may want to talk with them, like an adult, instead of making them pissed off for no reason.

  3. Why is Paidy after you for ¥5,000 if you weren’t able to pay with Paidy? You need to contact them and get the problem resolved before you leave. It could be a problem for you if you leave it unresolved and then decide to come back here later in life.

  4. Or, and hear me out, you could be a responsible adult and solve your problems and not contribute to one of the reasons why foreigners have a harder time here when applying to use services.

  5. My 2c: every country is an island. Unless you owe large money, like millions, banks don’t talk to each other. Non-bank companies even more so.

  6. Safely ignore? Wtf just talk to them and tell them it didn’t work. Just because you’re leaving doesn’t mean you can make things harder for the rest of us here

  7. Isn’t Paidy like, you select “pay later”–but still receive whatever that item was? You’re just meant to… pay later? Because if that’s the case, you probably did receive the tickets, or at least they were generated whether you understood how to receive them or not, but in any case–they weren’t cancelled. Paidy uses bank transfers and conbini payment as well, so if you asked them, they could probably tell you how to do that.
