I’m working on two laptops side by side: Linux and Windows.
Linux:
1. Boot, and it’s logged in to the Wi-Fi network.
Windows:
1. Boot. 2. Click on network icon. 3. Choose Wi-Fi. 4. Click on the network I want to log in to from the list. (The list has only one item.) 5. Confirm that I would like to log in to that network. 6. Enter username and password. 7. Click the ‘connect’ button (because pressing ‘Enter’ doesn’t work). 8. Wait. 9. Click on ‘OK’ when asked if I really want to connect to the network.
I grant the Linux machine is my personal one and the Windows one belongs to my workplace, but you’d think the IT people could make the connection a little more smooth.
Working on Thanksgiving 😢
My oldest on school days: can’t get out of bed. Sleepy.
My oldest on holidays: is jumping around the bed at 6am and has more energy than normal
No extra sleep for me 🙁
Also finally got a job interview but for hospitality. I’ve read on here that hospitality can be brutal and I’d be getting 15 fewer days off than I currently get though I only get paid for 48 work weeks currently so at least I’d be paid for the more work weeks
Forgot that today was a national holiday, so I didn’t make any plans.
What is it with Japanese people coming to a sub for immigrants in Japan and complaining about how oppressed and hurt they are by immigrants in Japan? I mean, I understand why they do it – I *don’t* understand why the mods allow it and why people upvote it.
It’s always some variation of, “How dare you come to my country and not praise everything about it – you’re the real racist, and I’m the real victim of racism because you’re forcing your foreign values one me!!!!! You’re guests in my country, if you don’t like it, go back where you came from!!! You’re just too foreign to understand the culture!!!”
And it’s like, no? Immigrants have literally no power over the ethnic majority, immigrants aren’t guests, and immigrants literally live and work in the culture and understand it just fine? Also reverese racism literally is not a thing?
We’re immigrants discussing the culture we live in. We aren’t obligated to worship and praise it 24/7. If you’re too fragile and thin-skinned to handle hearing what immigrants have to say about your country, maybe just don’t come to subs that are made specifically for immigrants in your country???
I mean, I get it. White people in my country do this shit all the time, too. It’s just wild to me how people just passively accept or actively cheer it on here.
Was all set to host Thanksgiving this year but came down with a cold and since nobody wants turkey with a side of rhinovirus had to cancel 🙁 Still will roast the bird this weekend though, so I guess that’s nice.
More of a happy moment than a complaint. I made a bus reservation in person for a trip to Kawaguchiko yesterday. The experience went very smoothly and the lady was very nice and helpful. There was a system error online so I couldn’t make a reservation. But she was able to help me out. There were no problems in communication and I could understand everything she said. And she treated me like an equal. Sometimes I get frustrated being looked at as a nuisance by native speakers or someone they have to be nervous around because there may be miscommunication. I get it but it gets annoying. So I was happy to feel normal in public for once.
Complaint: I went to print something at 7/11 a few days ago. It said the printer was out of paper and to call a worker. I did and she looked at it and told me I couldn’t use it. I was like??? Can’t you just get more paper and put it in the printer? Would solve the problem right there. How else does paper get in the printer? I wasn’t really mad though. My guess is she was new and she was a bit older so maybe she didn’t know how to do that. I just left and went to a different one.
I work at a very touristy place. Tourists are animals.
Why do guarantor companies have the gall to charge you a 口座引落手数料 and then send you a convenience store bill? Do they think people just won’t notice?
