My interests are temples, simply walking around and taking in the atmosphere, food, arcades, window shopping, amusement parks. Totally not into art. I’m also not a geek but would like to experience some typical Japanese geeky stuff. This itinerary excludes arrival and departure days and jetlag is not an issue. I currently have 7 days planned but flexible to add more.
Day 1:
Morning: Tsukiji outer market, Tokyo tower (not going up)
Afternoon: Shibuya (Sky, crossing, Hachiko, Mega Donki, Starbucks Reserve)
Day 2:
Morning: Meiji Jingu, Harajuku
Afternoon: Shinjuku (Gigo, Tokyo Metropolitan Gov. Building, Yokocho, Samurai Restaurant Time)
Day 3:
All day: Dawn (robot cafe), Imperial Palace, Hie Shrine, department store food court, Kabuki-Za (single act)
Day 4:
Morning: Asakusa (Senso-ji, Kaminarimon)
Afternoon: Akihabara (Tokyo Leisureland, Tokyo Dome City, Animate)
Day 5:
Morning: Warner Bros Studio Tour
Afternoon: Gotokuji
Day 6-7:
Disneyland + Disneysea
For the dept store food court was thinking Daimaru at Tokyo Station, but I’m open to suggestions.

I think the experience of TEAMlabs planets worth it, it’s in odaiba and as someone whos been to tokyo many times, i would still go more than once given the opportunity. Odaiba is also where the giant gundam is and it has the only rail without a pilot in tokyo (it’s called the yorikamome!). Another thing you can find in odaiba is the biggest indoor amusement park in tokyo, it’s called joypolis.
In shinjuku, i would always add to my list to bar hop on golden gai, and theres a new entertainment complex that opened a couple of months ago that looks super dope, its called tokyu kabukicho.
In akiba, if you wanna get lost in the geek merch madness, the mandarake is quite interesting. Even my cousin who doesnt like much geek stuff was entertained haha
It is otherwise a very solid down to earth schedule. Not sure you can squeeze in tokyo dome in a fraction of a day, but you can try i suppose.
Gotokuji is not that exciting. People seem to think it is going to be Maneki-neko paradise. Not really.
Other place to consider it when you’re in Tokyo is Kawagoe-shi. It has some of the oldest buildings in Japan. Plus some cool temples and shrines. It’s a nice walk from the train station through the shopping street to the old section of town. It is outside Ikebukuro on the Tobu Tojo sen.
