Visa Online Reservation System for A1 Counter visits?

Hi all,

I just got my visa stamp postcard in the mail, saying I need to visit the A1 counter at the Tokyo Immigration bureau for my residence status change. Normally, I reserve a timeslot on their online system so that I don’t need to wait in line, but I learned the hard way that for certain counters, like the Business H1 counter, the online reservation system does NOT apply and you need to wait like everyone else.

The reservation system says that it can be used for applications for changing status of residence, but I’m not sure whether that also applies to the final trip where I hand in my postcard to get my new residence card, etc. (I used it to apply for status change initially with no problems).

Does anyone have any experience with using the online reservation system to pick up your new visa/card at the A1 counter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
