  1. Yes, just like he made it possible for Jay, Juice, and Aussie Open to work “select New Japan dates.” Oh wait…

I see the Observer PR machine still works hard for AEW.

  2. This dude has turned into an absolute clown and I can’t figure out if he is serious or it’s a character.

  3. Yaaaaa I will always have zero respect for Tony. AEW still has some decent matches, but this modern wrestling spotfest style that Tony seems to love is absolute garbage and is ruining wrestling. Tony hasn’t saved anything, he is ruining wrestling, just like Vince was doing.

  4. Mods pls enable photo reactions so I can insert an EVIL backstage quote or simply a “LIVE EVIL reaction” to travesties like this.

  5. They’re gonna lose them

    What do you prefer, wwe?

Ok I hope they go there now

It’s not like Eddie, John, wheeler, Claudio don’t wrestle

  6. … I don’t know if this is serious or not because I can’t see where the praise comes from 😂😂

  7. Valley is right that this allows Will to work **some** dates for New Japan, as opposed to none if he’d gone to WWE. New Japan wasn’t going to pay him what he wanted. Will became Shohei and got too big. This is realistically the best possible outcome.

  8. I joined this sub hoping to learn more about NJPW and all I get notifications about is AEW stuff, fook this.

  9. You should be thankful that the guy who has access to the billions of dollars that his daddy accrued can use his copious wealth to pilfer…er I mean…offer to your favorite New Japan stars big money contracts and ensure that you won’t see them back in Japan anytime soon.

Thank you, Tony. I’m in the process of disowning my daughter and adopting a son as I type this just so I can name him after you.

  10. I get what hes trying to say but this is the worst way to say it. NJPW probably was never gonna match what he was offered elsewhere (especially the whole staying in the UK part) so in that sense i get the idea that him being in aew and working njpw for certain dates is better than wwe and never seeing will in Japan again but acting like TK is this savior of NJPW when its blatantly obvious that aew did a number on NJPW’s business in the west is asinine (NJPW didnt help themselves either but thats another convo)

  11. Can we start telling each other New Japan lore or something, I love AEW but yall kinda stay talking about everything but NJPW

  12. It doesn’t bother me that Will got a bag and I am glad we might see him down the road.

But FFS Jim don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining, and especially don’t do so and tell me I should be thankful for it. TK dickriders are the worst.

  13. Whilst I get the point, if there was no aew then njpw would still be the alternative. Mox said he would have taken a pay cut or never wrestled again to get out

  14. We should thanks Tony Khan for doing the same thing WWE was doing years ago with the indy scene minus three dates a year in your former federation.

  15. Yes, it’s true that Ospreay will still be able to work FD dates–probably more than TK would like. Otherwise this statement has more hubris than I thought was possible.

  16. Any time a guy with a cap and sunglasses starts talking about “the economy” you can just shut your brain right off.

  17. Okada was so mistreated I’m Impact, I highly doubt he goes to WWE. especially if he talks to any of the other guys who went there and were misused.

  18. My world doesn’t revolve around will or NJPW. Anyway I’m sure this comment went over well here.

  19. Jim Valley is a such a fucking Mark. Don’t post anything this pretentious prick posts please.

  20. I understand where he’s coming from in the sense that if you want to see Ospreay in NJPW sometimes this is the better deal than him being a WWE guy, but mama mia what a fucking way to phrase it. As though NJPW fans are meant to kiss Tony’s arse for letting them see wrestlers a handful of times a year when they used to see them all year round. Yeah, cheers boss man. I’m sure fans who only watch AEW would DEFINITELY be equally grateful if NJPW hypothetically somehow signed Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland but let them appear in AEW at All In and All Out

  21. A lot of people warned that a partnership would turn NJPW into a junior partner for AEW and the narrative would be based just on that. A few years later, that seems to be coming true. Sorry Jim, but we don’t have to thank Tony Khan for anything. Ospreay appearing every two years will be cool I guess? I guess we should thank the billionaire for that amazing generosity

  22. Thank you Tony Khan for saving pro wrestling ! lmao

Fucking hell these AEW fanboys are something else. Who gives a shit if Ospreay shows up once in NJPW like Kenny did. It does nothing for NJPW. Ospreay isn’t even a big draw in Japan, nothing can really justify this. I would hate seeing him take the place of someone for shows like WK or Dominion. The roster is stacked right now, it’s better to know these guys are gone and will never come back so others can step up and not get fucked for the biggest shows.

Right now NJPW can’t book a WK main event without including Naito or Okada. They can’t book Tanahashi on that level anymore. Their priority should be building new main event stars of that level. Put your own guys in these big title matches/semi-main so they can look like bigger deals, don’t make them job to a guy who’s leaving soon because that doesn’t send the best message to your fans. Bringing back a guy from AEW is useless on the longterm. I watch NJPW for NJPW storytelling, I don’t want to see some Forbidden Door bullshit on their biggest show of the year, that’s why I hate that we’ll have Okada/Danielson on the show. At this point of his career an Okada WK match should be used to prepare the next generation of NJPW stars, not getting his win back from a broken down guy who usually does the job in AEW. This shit won’t mean anything for NJPW.

So no, as a NJPW fan I don’t think I should thank Tony Khan. He’s a poison for NJPW’s booking, for NJPW’s storytelling, and I wish Gedo would stop being a cuck. It was actually better when WWE was signing NJPW guys, we didn’t have to worry about being cucked and WWE fans didn’t act like they were our friends or like we should thank them for saving pro wrestling because “hey at least they didn’t sign for this predatory american company…they signed for the other predatory company instead”. I’m not invested in your war with WWE I don’t give a shit to me you’re more or less the same thing but with way more annoying fans somehow.

  23. The AEW fans who flood this sub with nonsense like this do know there’s an AEW sub, yeah? Keep the Tony Khan simping to that sub.
