I applied my wife’s coe on last july. called immigration 4 times. but still no update. they are saying its still under investigation every time. I have already bought her flight. Is there any reason its taking so much time?
What type of visa are you on, what are you applying for, and where did you apply? You should never buy a flight until confirmation of COE exactly because of this kinda situation.
Purely guessing, but I imagine the CoE and new Visa departments are the busiest after Covid restrictions lifted. They probably have a huge backlog.
Is your wife Chinese by any chance? I know Chinese students who have been waiting up to 7 months to get their COE due to current political environment
They’re also pretty racist. At our company we notice a significant variation in application times between our Western employees (with Western-sounding names) and our other employees from APAC, ME and South Asia
