Had this disappointing sushi for my birthday. Can you guess what was wrong?

Spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, and a mystery roll

  1. This is a normal sushi stuff that is not high end, dunno what you expect, unless you are in a high end restaurant and rice is undercooked. Personally I don’t understand what you mean by undercooked as it look fine by me from the picture, but if you don’t like the restaurant don’t go there next time

  2. The whole plate makes me question the restaurants hygiene and that is very concerning since they sell raw fish.

The rice looks hard af. Is it even short or medium grain? Looks long.

    Nothing looks fresh

They don’t know how to roll it. Sloppyaf.

    What’s with that wasabi?

    Sorry about your experience.

  3. Presentation feels kinda messy for sushi, plus the rice looks like yesterday’s batch. Bummer bro

  4. The presentation of the entire dish prompts serious reservations about the establishment’s hygiene practices, a matter of heightened concern given their offering of raw fish delicacies.

The rice, discernibly firm, leaves one to question its grain classification—whether it adheres to the expected short or medium variety, or if, perhaps, it deviates into the long-grain spectrum. The absence of a vibrant freshness is conspicuous throughout, with a discernible lack of meticulousness in the art of rolling, revealing a rather lackadaisical approach.

Adding a further note of perplexity, the accompaniment of wasabi raises an eyebrow. Regrettably, your culinary experience seems to have fallen short of the expected standards.

  5. People usually have so much to say about fish quality (which is obviously important) but rice quality in how it’s cooked and seasoned is just as important as good fish.

  6. My husband is a sushi chef and is appalled by this. He would’ve comped that for you. Sorry your birthday dinner wasn’t what you wanted
