I know the general idea of it, but I have some questions. First of all, where do I go to apply for a CoE? 2. I plan to get a work visa, but I’m confused. I know that you need to get it before moving. But for the sponsor, how do I get work if I’m not there yet? I know Japan gives you 90 days of free visa. I’m not exactly moving soon, as I’m not even out of high school, so please forgive me for not knowing this.

>where do I go to apply for a CoE?
Someone in Japan (usually your employer) will submit the application at an immigration office.
>how do I get work if I’m not there yet?
Job fairs, internet based job boards, recruitment agencies, etc.
>I know Japan gives you 90 days of free visa.
It depends on what country you’re from but generally yes Japan will grant folks a 90 day short term visitor status upon arrival. But you’re not legally allowed to work while on this status, nor can you open a bank account. You also can’t request to change this status (outside of some specific circumstances).
