They are all like GABA/Nova. Nova is just a few years ahead of the curve. Everyone eventually adopts their model.
A few rules of thumb for every Eikaiwa or ALT company:
1. They’re not schools 2. They’re all in competition for the lowest wages and highest profits 3. They have no requirements for skills, qualifications, or experience 4. They will pay you the least they can, and try to avoid giving any benefits they can. 5. There is usually no advancement, if there is advancement, it’s very minimal
Any company named something like “Happy Smile Plus” or “John’s Rainbow English Room” or “Kangaroo English Academy” is just another small scale Nove or Interac, it’s not going to be run by teachers/educators, they’re entirely unregulated, and they exist to make money.
Approach them as what they are, and you’ll be less likely to be disappointed/taken advantage of.
