  1. Sorry, no one gets directly hired from BOE abroad they normally hire people who work in the BOE area or direct hires post for you to interview in Japan.

  2. There are many direct hire ALTs from the Philippines. Unfortunately, all of those people originally came to Japan through JET, a sketchy dispatch company, or marriage to a Japanese person. Direct hire ALT isn’t something anyone does when they initially come to Japan.

  3. If it helps you, answering your ‘or any agencies you know?’ part… try borderlink. I had a lot of Filipino coworkers. You could also try and search for the Filipino language teachers organizations in Japan. David Paul is about to retire from running his Language Teaching Professionals website and he connected with the Filipino community here. Ahhhh. https://ltprofessionals.com/etj/

I tried the FETJ link on that site and it didn’t work.

  4. If you can come to Japan on your own on a tourist visa then you can easily find a job here I think.

  5. I love when Filipinos come to Japan looking to teach English, my customer base goes through the roof.

  6. POEA doesn’t allow overseas companies to direct hire Filipinos in the Philippines. You need to find an agency that offers ALT jobs in Japan. You can start by searching for ALT jobs at Jobstreet or Workabroad.ph.

I do know that Chesham is Interac’s agency partner in the Philippines. Here’s their latest post: https://www.workabroad.ph/job/3241090

You can also try JET Programme, but you have to wait for October or November next year for the application period.

  7. yeah, i know a few filipinos who got hired from the philippines. some went through direct hire with BOE and others found positions through agencies. good luck! 🇵🇭

  8. I have a question. Do they really hire non-natives? One of these ALT companies told me that they can’t hire me because it would be impossible to get me a work visa because I’m not from a English-Speaking country.

So how do they do it for other non-natives like dear Flipinos?

  9. OWLS ( one world services) are hiring now for Fukuoka. They are a terrible company, so be careful what you wish for….
