COE and change of employment question

Hi everyone,

I’m currently set to leave to Japan in March to teach english. My husband and I are in the process of getting our COE’s.

I’m still in America and am slightly concerned that if I have a change in employment (in other words I quit…long story) this will effect the processing time of my COE and ultimately I go to Japan much later.

I figure this might happen because I would have to update my agency (Interac) of my employment situation…

This is my first time going to Japan so sorry if this is a horribly dumb and obvious question to some of you BUT I would just like to make sure before making the decision to quit my current job.

FYI I am not quiting BECAUSE I got a job in Japan I’m aware that’s not something you do until you know for sure when you are going. I’m quiting because my job sucks balls. My husband has an income rn so we will be fine in terms of saving up moneys.

  2. It’ll be fine. It’s your job in Japan that immigration cares about. Not the job that you’d have to quit at some point anyway.
