  1. Wow only 61 so tragic. RIP to an absolute legend who brought joy to millions around the world including myself

  2. F*ck I’m reading Yu-Gi-Oh! Millennium World right now. The manga is awesome. I was a big fan of the show in the early 2000’s when it first aired on Kids WB. Yugi probably has some of the most icon hair in manga.

  3. Apparently it was a diving accident in Okinawa where he was on vacation, it’s really sad waking up to this

  4. I remember saving every last cents of allowance for the manga, and reading them in class while hiding from the teacher. Good times.

    May he rest in peace.

  5. His original manga never gets enough respect. He was a real talent who maybe suffered from being too successful with yugioh. That original run really sat as one of my favorite childhood manga.

  6. Yugioh was my legit first foray into manga or anime. Still have some of my first editions from when I was in 6th grade about 20 years ago. Thank you for the memories and helping me get through my teenage years.

  7. Man I can’t believe he died, he made one of my favorite shows and games. R.I.P.

  8. RIP and I’m so saddened like most of you since Yu-Gi-Oh was one of my favorite anime from when I was younger and I grew up watching it in the US.

  9. RIP. I remember when I was a kid, Yu-Gi-Oh was so popular that pirated cards were selling everywhere stationary shops, and my classmate showed me an Exodia in one single card instead of five. Thanks for bringing joy to people over these years.
