Anyone in this group owners of Swiss Watches? I’ve got some watches that need a service here in Tokyo, but curious to know if anyone has gone through the process to tell me if it’s overpriced here and probably cheaper to do it in USA/Australia/etc.
Tudor, Zenith, Swatch Group…

You can definitely get official or alternative service for any kind of major Swiss watch brand here for a decent price. For official service you can go to or contact the retailer directly, for other alternatives just search for 時計オーバーホール. Major shops even list the prices for service of different models and movements of major brands.
I take my Victorinox to a local LOFT watch shop. If there are any issues that need to be done by the manufacturer, they’ll give me an estimate and send it for me.
Depending on the model, even if there is an official importer(or official branch), they may refuse handling. A buddy on mine couldn’t get his Breitling serviced; he bought it overseas. But if they do accept it and send it somewhere local or back to switzerland, know and feel assured that it’s being handled by official service centers. I usually go to Shibuya… can’t remember the name, but its a big department store
My Tag and Sinn leave for a few months every 5 years or so, and leave a 50-70k yen hole in my pocket and they always come back with the evidence about which parts were replaced.
100% of the time, the crown is replaced. They send back the crown with the watch to prove they exchanged it. There’s sometimes a report of what else they did such as gasket replacement or lubrication, but I don’t remember gaskets in the “goody bag of replaced parts”
good luck
