  1. I got the message on my phone in Japanese right now and have no idea what to do. Should i go up the mountain? Apparently as i saw on the Internet the Earthquake was in the Philippines and the Wave hits 3 am here (00:25). I am starting to getting stressed, my guesthouse host is at work and i am not sure if i should starting going up the mountain or not. I am currently at Kawazu, Izu Peninsula around 1.7km away from the sea in the valley.

    Someone help?

    Edit:
The Owner of the Guesthouse just randomly showed up from his night shift to give us a paper in english where he wrote the stuff that i already knew because of the Internet research. Very cute of him to worry about us ☺️

  2. People, predicted wave is 1m high – it can cause some localized flooding (probably minor), but unless you are staying right on the affected coast (i.e. most likely in beach/coast-side resorts in Shirahama, Tanabe, Numazu, Enoshima, Ise Shima or Beppu – all you have to do is to stay put and not go the beach.

Since people are extremely unlikely to stay in those areas outside hotels/resorts – follow directions from the staff.

  3. Follow instructions provided by Japanese and local authorities, I’d probably go with my gut since I’ve never been through a tsunami ……I’d bet sirens would wake you but, you probably didn’t sleep a wink tbh lol
