I was hoping to get some opinion from y’all.
I’ll be in Japan for 9 days solo from Jan 21-30. So far what I have is:
Day 1-4: Kyoto (doing day trip to Osaka)
Day 7-9: Tokyo (visiting a friend, don’t have any other business there so maybe I can cut to 1 day)
So the days in question are the in-between! I’m considering either Nagano or Nagoya.
Nagano- was planning to stay near the Matsumoto Castle. Seems like it’s near Museums and such. The area’s also good if I want to see more of their arts from what I’ve read.
Nagoya- suggested by a friend. Tokugawa Art Museum seems cool! There’s also the castle. Might stay a night at Ise Shima. There’s also Takayama which has a historic old town.
If you have other suggestions, they’re welcome too. I’m looking for a more quiet environment and places that has a booming art culture (paintings, craftsmanships, etc).
About me: I have tattoos so onsens that allow them would be good— I know it’s gonna be cold. I also don’t drive. Probably gonna get the JR Pass after calculating how much the total fares would be.
Thank you in advance!
