Career transition

I am currently a software developer from the US with about 2 years experience. I am interested in moving and working in Japan in the future. Would it be better to attend language school in the short term to get a student visa and try to find a job in person or should I not consider any move until I get an offer beforehand? I want to know if it would be easier to find a developer job if I was there in person vs just searching online and hoping one will take me from abroad. Can any devs who do work there let me know there process and what would work better?

What are your japanese skills now? If you’re just beginning, don’t waste your money. If you are advanced, it can be helpful to get the exposure to natvie speakers.

I don’t know that you “being here” would help in any way for the job hunt.
