The Drifters

Just sharing cause I love these guys so much! Not sure how many of y’all are familiar, but The Drifters were a comedy group that did a bunch of skits in the late 70s and 80s, sort of SNL or Monty Python style.

The もしも series are some of my favorites, a whole bunch of variations on “what if … there was this kind of” hospital, or sushi shop, or ramen stand.

Like most comedians, a lot of them have fairly strong Kansai accent and they talk quite fast, but most of these are pretty hilarious even if you only understand 70% of it.

What if … really creepy onsen hotel [https://youtu.be/p7KXs2bhE2A](https://youtu.be/p7KXs2bhE2A)

What if … Buddhist priest who had a ski accident [https://youtu.be/MSzkR2d\_1Mg?t=628](https://youtu.be/MSzkR2d_1Mg?t=628)

It’s a really fun way to practice your Japanese listening! Hahaha

  1. The best part is that you can enjoy most skits without knowing a single word of japanese.

  2. Thanks, ive been looking for more audio input to help with my studying, ill be sure to check these out

  3. Those videos remind me of my childhood!

Just one thing. They are not from Kansai and their accent are most likely to be of Edo or downtown Tokyo.
