Hi all. Wishing you all a great weekend.
I am Dito, from Indonesia. I am really interested to move to Japan. Here’s a little background. So, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy back in Sept 2021. I spent arround 16 months afterwards working in a pharma distribution company. I latter leave the job and spend like half a year thinking about “what I want to do”. So, I decided that I would like to finish my pharmacy study to get my pharmacist license (in Indonesia its 4 year of undergrad and 1 year professional studies before you can be a pharmacist) and apply for MEXT scholarship afterwards for master degree in clinical pharmaceutics.
The professional studies will end at sept 2024, and assuming I got the scholarship I will fly to japan in oct 2025. Assuming all went well I think I well get my master’s when I am 27 or 28 yo. My questions:
1. After finishing the professional study in Indonesia, I would have like 6-12 months before arrival in Japan (assuming I get the scholarship). And I would like to work while wait. So In total I would have like 1,5-2 years of experience working. Is it good enough to get a job in a japanese company later down the road ?
2. In general, how hard it is for a master graduate foreigner to get a job in Japan ?
That would be all from me. What do you guys think ?
Best regards,
Dito

Your private sector options will mainly be limited by your ability to communicate in Japanese. In research type roles you should be fine, but for example if you wanted to get your pharmacist license here you’d need to sit for the national exam here. Details of this process are here: https://www.mhlw.go.jp/kouseiroudoushou/shikaku_shiken/yakuzaishi/
