Itinerary Check

HI! My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Japan next November and I have started making the itinerary. I wanted some advice to see if I’m trying to do too much in each day or any suggestions on what I should change. We are planning to stay for two weeks from Nov 18-Dec 1.

Nov 18: \[TOKYO\]

* We would land and check into our hotel.
* Kappabashi dougu street, akihabara, and maybe mandarake complex
* For dinner, we would go to Curry Bondy and maybe go to Ginza if its open then

Nov 19: \[TOKYO\]

* In the morning, we go to cafe reissue and selca studio, then head to shibuya and check out all the stores
* for lunch or dinner, we would go to Kyushu Jangara Ramen Harajuku

Nov 20: \[TOKYO\]

* We would go to Hobo Shinjuku Norengai and Shiro-Hige’s Cream Puff Factory
* I want to go to a cat cafe on this day, but not totally sure which one to go to
* For dinner, we’re planning to go to Kumachen Olsen

Nov 21: \[MT FUJI to HAKONE\]

* We’re planning to go to Mt Fuji in the morning and do a tour with Fun2Drive
* Afterwards, I was thinking we could go to Hakone and check into a ryokan with an open air bath for the night

Nov 22: \[HAKONE to KYOTO\]

* We would leave early in the morning for Kyoto, and then check out Sawano and Gion in the afternoon

Nov 23: \[KYOTO\]

* I was planning to go to Tenryu-ji and arayashima in the early afternoon
* For dinner, we would go to menbaka fire ramen

Nov 24: \[KYOTO\]

* In the morning, I wanted to check out Daikan-Yama Candy Apple, Kichi Omurice, and (Thisis) Shizen
* I wanted to do some sight seeing in the afternoon, but wasn’t sure where to go

Nov 25: \[day trip: NARA PARK\]

* Obviously, we would visit Nara Park

Nov 26: \[day trip: OSAKA\]

* Cup Noodle Museum
* Gariguette
* Dontonbori
* Gyukatsu Motomura
* Shinsaibashisuji

Nov 27: \[KYOTO to TOKYO\]

* Team Lab Planets
* Ghibli Museum

Nov 28: \[TOKYO\]

* Disney sea

Nov 29: \[TOKYO\]

* Sanrio Puroland

Nov 30: \[TOKYO\]

* Tokyo Extreme Drive

Dec 1: Leave

I started running out of things to do towards the end, so I was just planning to leave those as chill days.

In regards to why we are only visiting Osaka for 1 day, I’m honestly super conflicted on whether we should stay there for a few days or not. So, if anyone has any recs on what we should do there, please let me know

  1. Unless you really, really, really love Hello Kitty five sanrioland a miss. Its a long way to travel and mostly just shops selling limited edition goods plus a few shows.
    I wouldn’t try doing Ghibli and teamlab on the same day. Its a lot of travel. Id make a day of ghibli and inokashira park.
    I wouldn’t plan food this far out. Places in Tokyo can go from great to meh very fast and new places open all the time.

  2. I know that saying things like looking at all the stores is a figure of speech, but you really should plan where you want to go as there are a vast number of very interesting shops in the main shopping districts of Tokyo.

    As it looks like you’re travelling from the US you should expect to be badly affected by jet lag for your first few days in Japan. You won’t be wanting to go out at night, for instance.

    The standard of food in Japan is very high, so it generally wouldn’t be worth travelling much out of your way to go to specific places.
