Hello! My partner and I will be traveling to Japan this December 14th – 23rd to visit my family and lay my grandmother to rest. It will be my third time in Japan but his first. It is our first international trip together and I was looking for comments on our planned trip. Thank you so much!
December 14th/15th – flight to Haneda, landing at about 5pm. Planning on taking the train to our hotel near Shinagawa station. Maybe going to Don Quijote to get some toiletries and finding a restaurant nearby. Check in and pass out basically.
December 16th – Meeting my cousin to take the Shinkansen to Nagoya. Spending the day with family in Nagoya.
December 17th – Traveling by car to Kyoto with my family. They booked a site seeing tour for all of us. Check into hotel and have dinner with them.
December 18th – This is the first day we are “on our own”. We plan on changing hotels (my uncle booked the one on the 17th) and looking at Nishiki Market and walking around Gion for a bit. This day is up in the air since I’m not sure when my family was going to head back home.
December 19th – Fushimi Inari early in the AM, then finishing what we did not do on the 18th. More exploring Gion and maybe Hanamikoji Street. Forwarding our luggage to Tokyo hotel.
December 20th – Shinkansen to Tokyo early AM. Exploring Ginza, then continuing onto Asakusa. Might just go straight to Asakusa if it seems like we should be there earlier rather than later. Check into hotel near Shimbashi.
December 21st – Shibuya Sky at 11am. Find lunch nearby and continue to explore around Shibuya (tower records, Meji Jingu are on the list)
December 22nd – Team Labs Planets at 9am, Tsukiji Market before or after. We left this day more open on purpose, we were thinking about going to Shinjuku and exploring.
December 23rd – Check out and fly out of Haneda.
