おはようございマイルドコーヒー

I saw this posted to Twitter earlier today, I’m interested in the おはようござい piece of this, do you not need to add ます in this sentence because it is casual? I’ve never seen this without being the full ございます

  1. Whether it was some kind of advertisement or a plain old shitpost, neither of those things require fully complete and grammatical sentences, thus allowing for a bit of wordplay by combining ございます and マイルド. Having it make sense to non-Japanese people has no bearing on the construction.

  2. It’s a portmanteau, or the intentional blending/overlap of two words into one. In this case the -ma of -masu, and the ma- of mairudo-.

    It isn’t grammatically correct and has no bearing on politeness. And it was most likely invented by the poster on the spot.
