Hello, minna San . I am gaijin in Japan. I am currently in Japan with study visa. My Japanese language is not good yet, so I have a hard time looking for a job. I just encountered an opening job post on Facebook. They have registered work permit etc. and what is weird for me is to apply the job you have to go to the minimart (any minimart, 711, famima, Lawson) purchase an Apple Pay as a work tag. Is this some kind of scam to boost up Apple Pay’s sales?

It’s a very obvious scam.
Report and block that person, and learn basic skills at how to avoid being scammed.
Anyone asking you to buy any sort of gift card or point card for any service not directly related to the gift card is a complete scam.
You should reply by shaming them for trying to exploit fellow foreigners desperate for work. Terrible people.

Yes it’s scam. Maybe you can try using Gaijinpot to find work. Good on you for asking someone whether it’s legit or not before actually sending anything to the scammers 👍
Sorry OP, it’s textbook scam. They just want you to send them the code so that they get the money from you.

They just want you to buy that, scratch the back of the card and send them the redeem code. After they redeem the card, they will disappear and move to the next victim.

I use to have fun with all this scammers, trolling them when I do have free time, like wasting their time as much as possible.
