  1. Expect to eat around 10 plates to be full.

Even then, an “expensive” place like nigiri no chojiro will set you back around ¥4000 / person.

Compared to EU and US prices, that’s still pretty cheap.

  2. Compared to the chain sushi shops, yes, but quite normal for a proper sushi restaurant. I’ll take a mid range sushi restaurant over a ¥100 chain any day.

  3. If you think 75 yen for sushi is expensive, please convert to USD prices at 150 yen to the US$. Then please compare to the prices you see at a U.S. based sushi restaurant. A full meal at this price is actually much less than a McDonalds value meal…

  4. Ate at an omakase place in Tokyo for lunch and I think it was about $35 USD. Best sushi I’ve ever had. Looking forward to visiting Sushi Yajima again soon.

  5. Looks about right, neither expensive or cheap. Depends where you are comparing it to.

More importantly is the quality, if the price matches the quality then I don’t mind paying more

  6. That’s a classic bait ad.
The cheapest one sure starts from JPY75, but you usually order something much more expensive than that.
