Hello! I have a bit of an odd request: I’m planning a trip to Tokyo for my honeymoon, and I’ve been having a bit of trouble finding a suitable hotel. I have very vertigo that is triggered by elevators, so it’s imperative that I find a hotel that lets me use their stairs. Unfortunately, the hotels that I’ve called asking about using their stairs have all said no, because they are afraid of me possibly planting a bomb in the stairwell haha. Would anyone know of any nice (maybe Japanese style) hotels in Tokyo that would fit my demands? Thank you!

I used the stairs at the Mimaru Shinjuku
Hotels would be hard but airbnbs would be more of your alley if you only like to use stairs. There are lots that are Japanese style as well.
I would try a Ryokan, like Sawanoya. Really nice area, stylish and no lift
Ryokans are the way to go.
I stayed a few days at the Super Hotel on the west side of Ikebukuro Station, and it only had one elevator. There was a sign near the elevator that said if you were in a hurry and didn’t want to wait for the elevator, you could use the stairs.
I’m not saying it was a great hotel, but I bet they’d let you use the stairs, based on that. 🙂
Gotanda Station Mystays Eki Mae. Use it often for business trips to Tokyo. On the cheaper side. Often use the stairs, especially for going downstairs. Two lifts that have their own logic..
