New adventure

Hello friends! I need help from all the community, please, my college advisor told me to apply for one Japanese scholarship, but the problem is that I don’t know any Japanese and one of the requirements is to know basic Japanese, the test is going to be on june 28th, so as a new adventure (not expecting anything) I wanted to know if anyone is willing to help me to fail (less miserably), i have the ability to learn a language quickly but I don’t expect myself to learn it completely in that period of time, so let me ask you dear community, will you help in this adventure (please)?

  1. Specify the test so people can tell you whether it is possible or not. A month may be enough to read hiragana and katakana, and parrot a couple of basic phrases. Hard to imagine a test would be on that though

  2. How much free time do you have? Also, try to figure out what they mean by “basic japanese”

  3. You won’t learn a language “completely” within one month (or even within one year…), but if you throw yourself into it every day, you might be able to get the basics down. Learn hiragana and katakana as a matter of priority, and review every day (writing them out) without fail. Maybe after about a week, start learning some kanji. First 100 characters should be doable. This is in addition to working through grammar, vocab, and (if necessary) speaking/listening, through a course, or with a teacher.
