I will study for a year in Japan and my university will send the CoE application in February. The student Visa should be valid from mid March on. However I am planning to go there already in January with a tourist visa. In mid March I would fly back to my home country to get the student visa.
Do you think there could be any problem during the CoE application process?

Hello all!

Just to be clear, are you talking about a proper tourist visa or are you from a country with a visa waiver agreement with Japan?
With visa waivers I don’t see any problems. But if you need to apply for a tourist visa it may be an issue if you’ve got a CoE processing already.
