Hello, when I was younger I suffered from acne and was left with lots of facial scarring. I’m the united stated I considered microderm needling. Are there similar or better options here in Japan? Please advise, thanks
There are tons of great treatments available to deal with scarring. Micro needling, dermabrasion, injections, laser treatment. It depends on your budget really. It’s important to choose a good clinic though. Most injections, abrasion, or laser treatments cost ¥40,000-¥75,000 for each round and may take a few treatments to get the results you are looking for.
stay away from dr. acne.
You can also get acid peels here (think TCA). The problem might be:
a) finding a ‘beauty dermatologist’. Look for clinics in popular areas (like shopping malls)
b) being allowed to have treatment if you don’t understand Japanese.

I’ve had a couple of TCA/glycolic acid peels and the experience was good. I had to stop due to vitiligo. You may find though that the treatment plan starts with something mild that doesn’t work before they ramp it up with the good stuff. So it will take a long time to find the right treatment.
I was just looking at it. The estimate for myself is 400K for multiple sessions. It’s called Potenza.
I want to do my armpits procedure first though. To stop it from smelling and sweating.
