He doesn’t necessarily need to neuter his fighting style, or adopt cheating methods overnight. But this heel turn should allow Ren to shed his Shibata clone persona and at least grow into a proper heel like SHO has since leaving CHAOS. A much needed injection because we all know everyone will be asking “Why is he still spinning his wheels in Strong Style” if he doesn’t amount to anything by mid 2024.

SHO was better as a face. Total waste of a wrestler who was having banger matches.. YOH is still bland as hell and should have been the one to turn.
I agree HoT is a good move for Ren because he was a default CAW, character wise. I hope he uses less interference to win than EVIL / SHO.
Okay then I’m asking you “Why is SHO still spinning his wheel in HoT, after 2 years of joining it?”
As much as I enjoy SHO’s gleefully manic sadism, I still think he was better off working a powerhouse bruiser style that would have made him stand out as a Jr and actually be a viable pick to win the singles title. He could have been the successor to Shingo instead of being Kotoka
He’s a decent pick for tag champion with his new partner and he can still develop into something like Desperado did, but it feels like he’s not going to shoot upwards with this persona, which is a shame after it felt like he was a sure thing a couple years ago
