Perfume Stores in Japan with a Wide Selection of Designer Brands

Anyone here knows where to find a perfume store that offers a broad selection of designer brands. I’m specifically interested in well-known names rather than niche brands.

Any recommendations for stores with an extensive range of options would be greatly appreciated!

I already check the stores in Ueno but it seems the stores are bit small and the selection are few.

Or do you know any local perfumery, my preference is good projection and longevity.

  1. Have you checked the department stores? Isetan should have a wide variety depending on the store. Most of them have perfumes from different brands in their branded areas.

But most of all, what are you specifically looking for? It’s easier to narrow by brands since they have store locators.

  2. They aren’t perfume stores, but Don Quijote and Bic Camera surprisingly have a pretty robust perfume selection.

  3. Most designer brands are more often sold at their individual boutiques rather than collected all in one shop (such as Sephora). So, Chanel perfumes at Chanel counters, Dior at Dior, etc. in Isetan, Hankyu, Seibu, Takashimaya, etc.

In Tokyo, I personally think Isetan has the best selection. It’s more niche oriented, but many niche brands have also become more mainstream. Like Diptyque, Lelabo, Byredo.

But there are also many brands, such as Jean Paul Paultier, Paco Rabanne, etc. that are very popular in the US, for example, that aren’t as readily available here. You’d have to go to the little import shops, such as in Ueno or there’s one in Shibuya as well. They’ll also sell Chanel and the like, but it’s hard to gauge the authenticity of these places.

Donki will also sell various kinds, but again, hard to gauge the authenticity.
