  1. Welcome to Japan! Most of shops and restaurants will be closed except convenience stores on 1st Jan!! So you MUST get your foods and drinks of 1st Jan on 31st Dec. (Or all shrines and temples will be opened for 24 hours from 31st to 1st Jan for prayers and there will be some street foods. Meiji Shrine in Harajuku has many street food shops on 1st Jan.)

I recommend you to get your foods & drinks at food floor basement of department store like Mitsukoshi Ginza/Matsuya Ginza on 31st Dec by 18:00. They will be closed at 18:00 on 31st Dec. Better to buy their foods in the afternoon on 31st Dec since many foods will be sold out.

    Mitsukoshi Ginza [https://www.mistore.jp.e.az.hp.transer.com/store/ginza/access.html](https://www.mistore.jp.e.az.hp.transer.com/store/ginza/access.html)

You can access there easy from Gotanda to Higashi-Ginza by Asakusa line subway.

  2. You could join me on Jan 9th for shichifukujin meguri(seven lucky gods pilgrimage) in Yanaka.

I’ll be flying in from Florida to narita on the 7th and staying in Tokyo to the 10th just for this. Then heading to osaka and Hiroshima
