Where can I buy nice cashmere sock for my wife’s birthday in Tokyo?

I’m going into town and want to buy some nice socks for her since it’s getting cold. Where would be a good place to get them? My budget is around 7000¥ max.
I would get them online but that might take too long for my comfort.

  1. Bro wha the fuck kinda high end ass socks you getting 😆. If you add up all the socks I’ve ever bought in Japan, it probably wouldn’t even total 7000円😂

In all seriousness tho, I have no idea where you would buy high end socks like that 🙆 takashimaya ?

  2. Merino wool socks (>60% Merino) are better than cashmere. Merino breathes better and doesn’t absorb odour while still being toasty and hardy. Cashmere is good for things you can adjust/take off (scarves, hats, sweaters) but not socks.

  3. No clue, but I’d personally recommend Merino wool over cashmere for cold. Cashmere can be quite delicate and flimsy; it’s great in a scarf or a sweater, but not as base thermal wear. Merino is high-grade, incredibly warm and long lasting if you treat it well.

  4. As an on and off crochet person don’t do cashmere for socks. You’ll get holes soon and they’ll be slip slidey and not in a fun way

  5. I have cashmere socks and they are f*#$ing wonderful. However, they are my evening “lounge socks” that I put on when I’m going to sit down to read/watch TV for the evening. They are definitely too delicate for general wear.

Unfortunately can’t recommend a specific location but I’d check out Isetan, Takashimaya (as previously suggested) or Matsuya.

  6. Go to a nice department store and look around in their leg wear section (usually on the first floor). I believe somewhere like Isetan Shinjuku would have a nice one.

  7. Try Loro Piana. It’s an Italian brand that specializes in Cashmere. You’ll find them in department stores but their flagship store in Japan is in Ginza.
