I have a student who is going to Canada with her elementary school aged son for one year. The boy is going to attend a public school. The mother, on the other hand, will basically be hanging out, and “living in a foreign country” for the year. I normally wouldn’t resort to using a textbook but she is leaving in 6 months and there isn’t much time.
Are there any recommended textbooks that cover things from daily life, for example going to a supermarket, going to a bank, ordering food from a restaurant, paying bills etc.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to DM me and give me your email, I can send you a 12 unit pdf “textbook” I’ve used at a former job. The first 4 lessons are aimed more for a uni student dealing with an advisor and roommate, but there might be some useful phrases there. Units 5-12 are things as you mention “at the bank,” “at the supermarket,” etc.
