You can buy a little device that you plug between the socket and appliances, that will log the consumption, wattage etc. (lets you identify appliances that suck up lots of energy, even when in sleep mode etc)
The meter outside your house let you do it , only bad thing is that you have to test one by one and go in and out of your house multiple times (wouldn’t recommend) . Out of the joke Amazon has some , check Elpa
Okay so I also had this problem, I would look up the image of the certain socket type you need for a plug. Go to yamada denki with the picture and pray they have that type. I couldn’t find any information besides actually asking my neighbors about this
