Throwing away broken wooden lattice

I have one of those wooden lattices for plants to grow on (about 2 meters by 1 meter) from makeman. It was destroyed in the last big typhoon and has just been sitting on my balcony. I have family coming to visit and I want to clean it up and get rid of it. Can I break it up into small pieces and stuff it in a burnable garbage bag or do I have to get sodai gomi?

Thanks

  1. It depends on where you live, but we always cut up/break up such things and dispose of them with burnable trash. Check with your local municipality to see if there are any rules prohibiting it, but I’d guess there aren’t.

  2. You can break it apart into sticks and bundle them together (has to be bundled, not in a bag) and put it out with burns, but check your local guide for size restrictions. Some municipalities will not accept if sticks are over a certain length (50cm or so).

  3. yep.

just make the pieces small enough to fit in the bag and watch no sharp pieces are a potential danger. they are easy to break.

  4. My local ward office said you can’t break up sodai gomi. I ignored it, broke it up and it, put it out with regular trash went away with no issues.
