Does Hokkaido have any events for its sister-statehood with Massachusetts?

So I found out that Massachusetts and Hokkaido are sister-states, with a day in Massachusetts being declared “Hokkaido Day” ever five years.

Are there any events in Japan related to this that I can go to if I travel to Hokkaido? There’s already a similar event in Shikoku that I plan to go to, so I might have to make two separate trips.

  1. There doesn’t seems to be. Last year, as it was the [30th anniversary of the sisterhood](https://www.pref.hokkaido.lg.jp/ss/tsk/teikei/tokusetsu_mas_y30.html), there was a small event. Prior to that, there was a Massachusetts Day in 2014, and [various cultural exchanges before that](https://www.pref.hokkaido.lg.jp/fs/2/4/7/8/4/0/1/_/massa.pdf). The [Hokkaido-Massachusetts Society](http://www.homas.sakura.ne.jp/) dissolved in 2016. Maybe there will be something in 2026 for the 35th anniversary.

  2. I mean not giving a damn about something like that is pretty true to the residents of Massachusetts so I would say they are actively celebrating
