Day trip check from Tokyo

Hi guys,

Just wanted to do a quick check on the below day trip from Tokyo Nihombashi area during the spring season instead of a Hakone day trip.

Chureito Pagoda
Kawaguchiko
Fuji-Q Highland for the Naruto theme park

Return to Tokyo

Is this a feasible day trip using public transport.

Any suggestions appreciated.
Thank you

  1. None of those are at Hakone; they’re in the Fuji Five Lakes area west of Tokyo. Hakone is south, on the other side of Mt Fuji.

I’m not as familiar with the Five Lakes, so I don’t know how feasible your itinerary is – but you need to allow 2-3 hours travel each way. You might want to have your own transport, or stay overnight.

  2. It’s possible if you start very early, end very late, and cab everywhere. During peak hours you will have to wait for the buses to bring you around Kawaguchiko. Chureito pagoda is a 1 hour plus train and walk from Kawaguchiko.
