Just got my first cash on delivery for an online order I paid in full?

I ordered from Yesstyle a week ago and paid in debit card in full, ive ordered from them before and ive never had to do cash on delivery. I got the package today and had to pay 650 en, i paid it because I didnt want to argue with the postman, but im confused why I had to do that?

  1. Was there a piece of paper included with it about disputing the payment? When I got pinged for import tax on something shipped from the UK I got a piece of paper with instructions on how to dispute it. I didn’t both since it was like 1000 yen

  2. Import customs most likely, usually when the post collects money and the order is from overseas, this is the reason.

  3. I would like to recommend not making online purchases on your debit card. Much more difficult than a credit card to get your money back if there is any fraud.

  4. If you didn’t want to ask the very person responsible for collecting the money, why would you ask complete amateurs?
