  1. Not surprised. So many people here are satisfied with pouring money from work into whatever their main hobby is. They live with their parents and their dog or cat is their “child.” This might even be a global trend though with younger people.

  2. If any of you here are thinking of getting married, consider the following before you do. On the one hand, you get to wear a pretty cool ring.

On the other hand, you don’t.

  3. This doesn’t mean they aren’t interested in having life partners, at least if we can assume similarity between my understanding of the phenomena and Japan’s genz. In the GenZ cohort i’m familiar with, it’s more about a rejection of institutionalized marriage and concern about the permanence and potential legal issues it brings up.

I would probably answer that I don’t mind but that shouldn’t indicate change in my desire to have a long-term partner, children, etc.; those are different questions.

  4. I have a feeling that 1000 people aged 18 to 69 worldwide aren’t really representative about genz in general much less genz in japan

  5. wonder if theyre disinterested in relationships altogether or if this just applies to the legal contract of marriage.
