What books do you use for private lessons?

Looking for text book recommendations for tutoring. I’ve taught with the Let’s Go series, but was not a big fan. But it does have plenty of levels and materials. What do you use / recommend for young learners, age 3-7?

  1. I was just about to make this post asking for books for 5 year olds that are not the Let’s Go series. Will be following this closely

  2. I personally think you need to teach them to read first. Of course, you can have basic conversation like, “what’s you’re name?” And stuff. Obviously the reading doesn’t work with the 3 year olds. Unless they’re super chill and well behaved. You could read books to them though. Coloring is fun. Teach them colors, etc.

I use some of these books. https://www.emz-publishing.com

There’s things like Learning World, Smart English, Smart Phonics too.

I used English Land in the past. I liked it as the activities weren’t too difficult. The books came with stickers (At least in the 1st edition), so I would hold them for students are offer them as rewards for completing the units.

Students are often familiar with the characters or want to know them more so it offers the families something to do.

I started the Level 1 with 5 year olds. We did Level 1 and most of Level 2 before I left the class and someone else took over.

  4. When I still worked at an Eikaiwa school, I wrote/printed my own books
All the art was license free

I just couldn’t find anything that had the English I wanted

Sorry I wasn’t much help, somewhere, not that deep down, I probably just wanted to humble brag
