Last one for today and I just want to say, please go to Iwate if you have a chance; it’s such a lovely prefecture but doesn’t get a lot of foreign tourists.
Absolutely visit Iwate. Ichinoseki has a nice beer festival in August (I think?) and a nearby canyon that’s really beautiful. Kitakami is beautiful in the spring and is right near a bunch of onsen, and the drive from there into Akita on Route 107 is beautiful. Tohno is connected with fairytales and youkai, in particular the kappa. Hiraizumi is where Basho wrote the famous “Summer grassesall that remainsof soldiers’ dreams” haiku.
I studied abroad in Oshu-shi (former Mizusawa-shi) back in 2005, and the route I walked to school looked very much like this photo.
Aww man, this makes me so nostalgic. I lived in Iwate for about 3 years for work, and I miss the scenery dearly. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work!
…so beautifully crafted 🥹
This is an outstanding photo.
Bucolic is one of my favorite words in the English language and to see it used naturally in this is… Perfection. Thank you, internet stranger.

Such a pretty picture
Echoing the recommendation for visiting Iwate. Some points of interest: [Ryūsendō Caves](https://goo.gl/maps/s6mSPJB47z1SWu1eA), the lookout over [Kitayama Cape](https://goo.gl/maps/rjf6YhoFXZkqNZAX7), and if you’re into meme tourism then don’t forget to [take your picture next to the sign of the Oshita Bridge](https://goo.gl/maps/RuKMny8KMQtUYCPP9).
