My father is Japanese but my mother is filipino. We used to live in Japan but when I was very young, my mother died and I have lived in her country ever since. My father stayed in Japan.
Consequently, I’m already 28 years old but I have no Japanese IDs. I want to get a Japanese Passport or live in Japan in the next years but I don’t know how to obtain Koseki Tohon.
Am I still considered Japanese despite living out of Japan for so many years? How can I prove it?
