The drain may be clogged. Is the tip of the drain visible near the outside unit?
go outside where the pipes from the ac go through the wall, there will be a small pipe going down either into a drain pipe or draining onto the ground/balcony, that is clogged – Daiso/etc. sell little plastic suckers you can use to suck whatever is clogging it out and it will drain normally and you won’t get water building up inside the unit.
Mine does this whenever I switch from ‘dry’ mode (which only works at a low fan speed) to ‘cool’ with the fan cranked. I assume it’s just a small amount of condensation collecting on the blades that direct the airflow.
My AC started doing this everytime EXCEPT for that one time when AC guy came over to take a look… It started spitting water again next day. I just taped layers of papertowels on the mouth to absorb it.
I had the same problem,
I cleaned the AC filter and it fixed the problem
but, I remember it still spit water once or twice after that. and after that, so far is fine.
the water never spit again.
you can give it a try.
or, have you cleaned the filter and it still spit the water?
Last year, I had the same problem and it persisted even after cleaning the pipes. Got a new one and it’s fine now.
At one point, it was looking like a waterfall.
